Herdade da Lisboa is located in the wine region of Alentejo - Portugal's largest wine region by size as it covers a third of the country - and more specifically in the sub-region of Vidigueira & the town of Selmes.

The winery was bought by João Cardoso and his two sons in 2011, but has been a winery since the 18th century.

Paço dos Infantes means 'House of the Second Sons' and refers to the palaces that were built for the second sons of the King of Portugal. This was the brand of the previous owner and was very famous in the 80s & 90s and the Cardoso family have continued it's legacy.

Touriga Nacional is considered Portugal’s finest grape and is known as the Cabernet Sauvignon of Portugal. It is extremely important in the production of port & is prized for making dry, full bodied wines with bold, dark fruit flavors, rich tannins & excellent ageing potential.
